Current Open Position: Trade Services Analyst

The Role
The successful candidate will support Trade Services in a wide range of compliance and operational activities, including:
- Solicitation Services
- HTS Classification Services
- Reconciliation Services
- ISF & In-Bond Support Services
- Post-Entry Filing (PSC & Protests)
- New Client Vetting
- Bonds & Contract Support
Responsibilities & Tasks
Solicitation Services
- Create and initiate solicitation requests depending on client capability
- Monitor supplier responses and validate/reject as appropriate
- Follow up to resolve any outstanding questions or issues
- Collaborate with suppliers and clients to meet completion deadlines
- Attend and participate in client status meetings
HTS Classification Services
- Apply GRI, HTSUS Section and Chapter Notes, Explanatory Notes, and CBP Rulings to determine proper tariff classification
- Classify for U.S. imports and Free Trade Agreement purposes
- Use appropriate resources to support confident HTSUS code determination
- Maintain complete audit trail documentation for all classifications
- Prepare written opinions when required, citing legal notes and rulings
Reconciliation Services
- Gather, format, and analyze client reconciliation data
- File reconciliations on time to avoid penalties
- Bill clients appropriately and in a timely manner
ISF & In-Bond Support Services
- Monitor client notifications and ensure timely ISF filing
- Maintain tracking databases for in-bond shipments and related communication
- Provide reports as needed
PSC & Protest Filings
- File post-summary corrections and protests as requested
- Track and report error types and filing metrics
New Client Vetting
- Review new client information for compliance and risk evaluation
- Ensure all required documentation is collected and maintained
Bond Desk
- Assist in acquiring and renewing client bonds
- Ensure bond sufficiency matches import volume and commodity risk
Contractor Support Responsibilities
- Serve as liaison between clients and third-party service providers
- Facilitate communication and document flow between internal teams and external contacts
Includes:
- Monitoring and sorting emails in the Trade Mailbox
- Forwarding broker requests to appropriate parties
- Providing HTS, TSCA, and import documentation upon request
- Saving files and correspondence to SharePoint
- Coordinating bulk survey inspections and document flow
- Monitoring container dispatch and coordinating pickups
- Managing ISF communication and submission
- Preparing pro forma invoices for return shipments
- Handling EPA NOA label requests and submissions
Qualifications & Skills Required
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years in Customs-related work preferred
- U.S. Customs Broker License a plus
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Access a plus
